The winter Rose-Heart Radish is perfect for this Valentine’s Day salad.  It is also called Misato Rose (Xin-li-mei, which means “Beauty in the Heart” in Chinese).  It is also known as the Watermelon Radish.  Whatever you call it, this mild, amazingly beautiful radish is delicious.   Slice some segments crosswise  and others lengthwise.  You’ll see the brilliant, fuchsia interior has a different pattern when cut in different directions.

Sweet Heart Salad
This salad not only looks like it could be on the cover of Taste of Home magazine it’s also good for you.  Radishes are a good source of vitamin C, folate, and potassium; leafy greens are packed with magnesium that may help to lower blood pressure, triglycerides, and increase HDL cholesterol (the good kind); almonds have been shown to reduce LDL cholesterol (the bad stuff) and total cholesterol, and almonds help lower C-reactive protein (a risk factor for heart disease);  raspberries are high in the antioxidants known as polyphenols.
To top all of this off, literally and figuratively, your Salad Girl Organic Salad Dressings are full of the freshest, healthiest ingredients that will maximize your body’s absorption of all the vitamins and minerals packed into this salad.  If you haven’t read it yet, check out our blog article called “Salad Girl Sunflower Oil Does the Job”.  It’s located in the “Salad Girl Ingredients & Nutrition Panels” category.
